Robotow 2.0 kits and parts for sale
The kit is the tug: the Robotow 2.0, a Milwaukee M18 battery, the charger and the adapter for your airplane. Pick your airplane on the kit page to see the contents and the online variant's part number and price. Extra adapters and the Dolly Wheel 2.0 are sold separately.
Hand or powered
Hand tow bar or powered tow bar: which one do you need?
A hand tow bar steers the nose wheel. You do the pushing, or you and a helper do. On level ground you can push a light airplane all day, and a hand tow bar is the simpler tool for that.
Flat ground was never the problem. The incline into the hangar is. So are the lip at the door, the door tracks, full fuel, and nobody around to help. That is where a motor helps.

The Robotow 2.0 is a tow bar with the motor built in. Its drum drives the nose tire while you walk at the nose wheel and steer with both hands on the handle. One person instead of two.
It weighs 23.5 lb on the standard frame, without the battery. The Pro frame folds to 35.75 inches, with a carry handle.

It does not fit an airplane with a pant or fairing on the nose wheel, the Cirrus SR20, SR22 or SR22T, taildraggers, or airplanes on skis. Read why: wheel pants and nose fairings, Cirrus SR20, SR22 and SR22T, and taildraggers and skis.
What it does, and where it stops. Robotow drives your nose tire with a knurled steel drum while you walk at the nose wheel and steer. On ice or packed snow the drum can slip or ice over. With a wheel pant on the nose wheel, it does not fit until the pant comes off. We don't publish a slope or weight limit: ramps, lips and airplanes vary too much for one number. Tell us your airplane and your ramp, and we will talk it through.

How much is a Robotow 2.0 kit?
Kits start at $2,669 on the standard frame with the 5Ah battery. Pro and premium-adapter kits start at $2,869. Every kit comes with the battery, the charger and the adapter for your airplane. Online variant prices follow your airplane and battery selection. If your airplane fits the standard frame and you want the Pro, order it by phone.
Is the Robotow an electric aircraft tug?
Yes. Pilots call it an electric aircraft tug, a powered tow bar or an electric tow bar. A high-torque, brushless 18 volt motor is built into the unit, and it runs on Milwaukee M18 packs. If you own M18 tools, the packs you already have fit.
How much does it weigh, and can I carry it?
23.5 lb for the standard frame and 27.25 lb for the Pro, without the battery. The Pro folds to 35.75 inches, and you pick it up by the carry handle. The Dolly Wheel 2.0 is 13.55 lb and carries the drive end while you line up the hookup.
Which airplanes does it not fit?
Any airplane with a pant or fairing on the nose wheel, because the drum has to touch the tire. The Cirrus SR20, SR22 and SR22T, the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, the Piper Arrow, the Piper Seneca, the Piper Malibu, Mirage, Meridian and M-Class, the Aerostar, taildraggers and airplanes on skis. The Cirrus Vision Jet SF50 fits.
How fast does it ship, and what does shipping cost?
Orders currently leave Lima, Ohio in about 5 business days while production ramps up. Shipping in the lower 48 is a flat $65 for a kit, $15 for an adapter, battery or charger on its own, and $25 for the Dolly Wheel 2.0. Hawaii and Alaska: call 419-331-0371 for a quote.
What is the warranty?
A one-year limited warranty on the Robotow unit, for the first owner, whether you bought it from us, from Sporty's or from Aircraft Spruce. If the unit needs a warranty repair, we pay the shipping both ways. Our target is about two business weeks, end to end. Batteries and chargers are Milwaukee parts and are not covered by this warranty. The warranty page has the full terms.
