Robotow one-year limited warranty

Aircraft Dynamics has stood behind the Robotow since 1962, and there are Robotows still working after thirty-five years. This page tells you exactly what we cover, for how long, and what to do if something goes wrong.

Who it covers

This warranty is given by Aircraft Dynamics Corporation to the first owner of a new Robotow 2.0, 2.0 Pro or 2.0 SF bought from Aircraft Dynamics, on robotow.com or by phone, or from Sporty's Pilot Shop or Aircraft Spruce. It does not transfer when the Robotow is sold. Flight schools, FBOs and other businesses get the same terms.

Register your Robotow on the owners page so we have your serial number on file. Registration is not required for the warranty, but it makes every claim faster.

What we cover, and for how long

• The Robotow unit: one year from the day you receive it.
• Aircraft adapters: one year from the day you receive them.
• The Dolly Wheel 2.0: one year from the day you receive it.
• Batteries and chargers are Milwaukee M18 parts and are not covered by this warranty.

We warrant these products against defects in materials and workmanship in normal use: moving a general aviation airplane the Robotow fits, with the adapter listed for that airplane.

What we will do

If a covered product fails during the warranty, we will repair it or replace it, our choice, at no charge for parts or labor. If we can do neither, we will refund what you paid for that item.

We pay the shipping both ways on a warranty repair and send you a prepaid label. Our target is about two business weeks, end to end.

What is not covered

• Normal wear, including the drive drum surface, tires, hardware finish and cosmetic marks.
• Damage from an accident, a drop, a collision, or moving an airplane the Robotow is not rated or adapted for.
• Damage from a battery or charger that is not a Milwaukee M18 pack or charger. Using a genuine M18 pack you bought elsewhere does not affect this warranty.
• Damage from modification, from repair by anyone other than Aircraft Dynamics or someone we authorize, or from parts we did not supply or approve.
• Damage from water immersion, corrosive exposure or improper storage.
• Damage from using an adapter on an airplane it is not listed for, or using the Robotow with wheel pants or fairings in place.
• Anything other than the Robotow itself, including the airplane, the hangar, vehicles, people or other property.
• Products bought used, bought from a seller other than those listed above, or with the serial number removed or altered.

Wheel pants, fairings and fit

The drive drum has to touch the nose tire, so a Robotow only works on an airplane with a bare nose wheel. With wheel pants or fairings in place it will not work and can damage your airplane. If you are not certain your Robotow fits your airplane, check the fit guide on the kit page or call us at 419-331-0371 before you use it.

How to make a claim

1. Call us at 419-331-0371, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm Eastern, or email sales@robotow.com.
2. Have your serial number, the airplane you use it on, and when and where you bought it. A photo or a short video of the problem saves everyone a week.
3. We will tell you whether the fix is a part we ship you, a repair in Lima, or a replacement. If the unit needs to come back, we send a prepaid label and the instructions.

Your other rights

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow limits on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the limitations or exclusions above may not apply to you.

Older Robotows

Parts and batteries for older models, including the 28VL and 24SL, are available only while supplies last. We can often find refurbished components, but we can't say how long that will continue. Call 419-331-0371 and we will tell you honestly what we can do.
