Powered tow bars and airplane tugs, side by side

We are Aircraft Dynamics of Lima, Ohio, and we make the Robotow 2.0, a powered tow bar. This page puts the published facts for the Robotow and for other makers' tow bars and tugs in one table.

Every figure for another maker comes from that maker's own website, read on October 22, 2026 (Eastern time). This page reports what each maker publishes. It is not a test or a review of any product. Prices and specs change, so check the maker's page before you buy.

How to read the table

  • Type is the maker's own description of its product, in quotation marks. Ours is in our words.
  • Weight is the figure each maker publishes. Makers do not all measure the same way. Some give a unit or net weight, some give a shipping weight, and some do not say whether a battery is included. Robotow weights are without the battery.
  • Battery or fuel is what the maker's page says powers the product. It does not describe the motor or drive on any row, ours included.
  • Price is the price shown on the maker's page on October 22, 2026, before shipping, tax and options. What comes with each product differs (battery, charger, drill, adapters), so the prices are not like for like.
  • Maker's own site shows how the maker sells the product on its own website. Dealers may also carry any product here, ours included.
  • Not published and Not stated mean we read the pages named in the sources on that date and did not find it there. They mean nothing else.
  • Other makers are listed in alphabetical order.

Figures for other makers come from each maker's own published pages, read on October 22, 2026, and are shown as published on that date. What the table leaves out

The table covers six things. It does not cover warranty or the airplane weight a maker says its product can move, and on both of those some other makers publish more than we do. Redline's FAQ says the components it produces are "fully guaranteed for 5 years for the original purchaser" (source 31). PowerTow's 40EZ page states a "2 year Warranty" (source 23). Minimax's Cessna 182 and 206 wheel pants page lists a "Lifetime limited warranty", and its returns page states a "One (1) Year Limited Warranty" (sources 13, 32). Ours is a one-year limited warranty. Most makers in the table publish an airplane weight figure for their product. We do not publish a weight limit.
